When the Tiger Gods Smiled

It was May 2015. We had just been to Ranthambore in December and spent three cold crisp Indian Winter mornings and afternoons chasing the elusive tiger. We were told - “come in the summer, Tigers remain close to the water and hence are easier to see”. So come May, Veer and I decided to head to Ranthambore to take our chances.

Suffice to say, Murphy’s law prevailed. We didnt see a tiger for five safaris. Then, the gods smiled and the heavens opened. First we saw a young male crouched by the jeep track.

Then, we drove drove around and came across a young tigress and her three cubs. A treat indeed!
